Grab your friends and family and invite your neighbours for a picnic in the park this Neighbour Day. |
WHEN: Host a picnic to connect with your neighbours on the last weekend of March 2019. |
Neighbour Day is celebrated on the last Sunday in March every year, with the aim of fostering strong personal connections that last the whole year round. The annual theme for Neighbour Day 2019 is Loneliness: What neighbours can do. On the weekend of 30-31 March 2019 we are encouraging everyone to get out and have a picnic with their neighbours in a local park. Getting together with your neighbours can have many benefits including reducing loneliness, creating a sense of belonging, increasing local connections and support and reducing crime rates. If people BYO supplies, organising a picnic with your neighbours is as easy as: • Picking at date, time and location • Putting those details on an invitation (you can use our invitation template if you want) • Placing the invitations in the mailboxes in your street or neighbourhood (make sure you give some notice) • Turn up on the day with your picnic rug and supplies The first 20 people to register their local Neighbour Day gathering will receive a $50 gift card towards their event. To be eligible for a gift card your event will need to be a family-friendly gathering in a City of Logan park. To enter register your details below.
