This course provides participants with the skills to recognise common mental health problems, knowledge of possible causes or risk factors and an awareness of treatments available. Additionally, this course also provides participants with the skills in how to provide initial support to someone experiencing a mental health problem and how to take appropriate action if a crisis situation arises.
Mental health crises covered in this course: - Suicidal thoughts and behaviours - Non-suicidal self-injury - Panic attacks - Traumatic events - Severe Psychotic states - Severe effects from alcohol or other drug misuse - Aggressive behaviours This course will run over 2 days (Fri 27th Oct & Fri 3rd Nov) *LUNCH INCLUDED* Please be advised if minimum numbers have not been met for this course at Deakin, it will be available at the providers Glen Waverley training facility on Nov 16th & 23rd. |
